Kolona

Loutra
Hot springs that gush from the earth are the distinctive features of Loutra beach. Wander around the area and discover the small ponds with warm water for a dive into total relaxation and wellness. This beach is not fully organized, making it the ideal destination for nature lovers and all those who seek tranquility and absolute connection to mother Earth.

Agia Irini
If you’re seeking a secluded destination, then Agia Irini beach is not a prerequisite but a “must do”. Rocky surroundings and crystal waters bathing it, have transformed this beach to a small paradise accessible only by sea! Its tranquility and natural beauty impress every visitor. Those who indulge in snorkeling, will love it!

Megali Ammos
A beach full of choices that satisfies every visitor. Wonderful nature, swimming in the transparent waters, water sports, windsurfing, snorkeling, beach volley and yoga along the coast. Whatever the request, it’s for sure that by leaving your footprints in there, you will carry Megali Ammos with you forever.

Gaidouromantra
Sand and white pebbles, clusters of tamarisk trees and clear blue waters, are offered to visitors whose hearts flutter and yearn for adventure! Following a dirt path, all those who want tranquility leave along their vehicle in order to descend the stone steps that lead to this deserted bay, in the southeastern part of the island of Kythnos. An isolated beach with difficulty in access, mostly visited by swimmers from Loutra, the beach of Skylos and Petrousa, who want to experience its wild beauty.

Skylos
A deserted beach where the only natural shade is found beyond the reeds at the ends of the streams, is the beach of Skylos on the southeastern coast of the island. Clear waters, white pebbles and sand compose a denuded but invaluable scenery of multifaceted beauty. Get the right equipment and enjoy absolute peace of mind!

Simousi
Near the settlement of Kythnousa there is a beach very popular and loved by both locals and foreigners. Hills that slide into its blue waters and golden sand, plateaus, coves and capes, compose a landscape of unique beauty. Swim in its sheltered waters and let your gaze wander to Serifos which winks at you, just from the opposite!

Martinakia
A hill of 115 meters divides this small sandy beach full of fine pebbles, from the port of Merichas. Swimmers, gazing at the ships coming and going, enjoy shade on the tamarisk trees that grow all along the coastline while the liveliness of the port where shops and taverns are situated, is just a breath away.

Episkopi
Clear blue waters, tamarisk trees and sand within a radius of half a kilometer is what the visitor comes along with in Episkopi, one of the most well-known and fully organized beaches of Kythnos. Hiking lovers follow the 2 km path in order to reach the archaeological site of Vryokastro, the ancient capital of the island. In the northern part, the picturesque church of Agios Vlassis built on the rocks, is an ideal destination for romantic souls combining with many photographic “clicks” overlooking the horizon.

Potamia
Protected from the Aegean wind, this small beach that extends to the northwest of Kythnos, welcomes in its deep crystal waters all those who seek a quiet swim. A small stone path marks the beginning of the route from the end of the dirt road where drivers leave aside their vehicles. Scattered tamarisk trees take care of visitor’s shade. Everything else should be taken care of yourselves, since Potamia is a beach with no amenities.

Apokrousi
Idyllic images unfold towards the islet of Agios Loukas and the famous landmark of Kolona centered on the beach of Apokrousi, a jewel of Kythnos. It is located in an enclosed cove in the northwestern part of the island, with easy access to clear blue waters and all the amenities offered by an organized beach. The nearby Vryokastro, which is accessible by a similar path for walkers, is of great interest due to the archaeological findings in the wider area.
